Dean Semler, who rode the Aussie New Wave into Hollywood as the d.p. on "The Road Warrior" and "Dead Calm" before winning an Oscar for "Dances With Wolves," will receive the American Society of Cinematographers' Lifetime Achievement Award.

Semler joins such legendary lensers as Conrad Hall, Gordon Willis, Haskell Wexler and Vittorio Storaro in landing the ASC kudo. His other credits include "Farewell to the King," "Secretariat" and "Apocalypto."

In addition, Dutch d.p. Muller's work with Jim Jarmusch ("Down By Law," "Mystery Train") and Lars von Trier ("Breaking the Waves," "Dancer in the Dark") has added to his international acclaim.

Other honorees include Rodney Charters, recipient of the Career Achievement in Television Award, and Curtis Clark, who will receive the org's President's Award.

"Each of these individuals has made an indelible impact on our profession, and the industry as a whole," said ASC prexy Stephen Lighthill.

The 27th annual ASC Awards ceremony is set for Feb. 10 at the Hollywood & Highland Grand Ballroom.
