Paramount's "Titanic" 3D retread collected $4.4 million Wednesday including midnights for a domestic cume of $4.7 million. That includes the pic's evening previews Tuesday night.

The film's mid-week start marks an OK start, which is expected to translate into a five-day take at around $30 million. Pic should gross in the mid-$20 millions in three days.

According to B.O. observers, "Titanic" got off to a strong start Wednesday during matinee shows, boosted primarily by the pic's young female fanbase. Pic began to plateau by early evening, however.

A sizable K-12 audience out of school today should continue to benefit "Titanic" 3D before Friday, when the vast majority of students will be out of school.

"Titanic" will share the heightened Easter moviegoing with fellow newcomer, Universal's "American Reunion," and holdovers including "The Hunger Games," "Wrath of the Titans" and "Mirror Mirror."
